About PAL
PAL is an organization in many American police departments in which members of the community coach young people in sports and help with homework and other school related activities. The purpose is to help build character, help strengthen community relations, and keep kids off the street and away from crime.
The program is a non-profit organization and solicits funds, equipment, and volunteer help from members of the community so that taxpayer needs are small, while returns are maximized. Participants in the PAL activities are less likely to engage in criminal activity, far more likely to praise the character of the police force and discourage their friends from either committing crime or covering up criminal activity.
The Zanesville Police Athletics League program provides competitive boxing, karate, leadership support, after school programming & mentoring. The PAL is located at 804 Pine Street, Zanesville, OH 43701.
